Dhaka was considered in 2015 by The Economist as the second worst city to live in the whole world. With a population of 7 million people it suffers a huge amount of traffic, crime and contamination. Entire families are forced to live their homes in rural areas and they all end in Dhaka. These people go to the capital looking for a job but they all end up living in shanty towns. It is thought that in a couple of years 20 million people will be displaced to the city due to the floods.

What will happen with Bangladesh in the future?
The International Institute of Environment and Development has estimated than in 20 years millions of people in Bangladesh wouldn´t be able to live from the agriculture and fishing as they do today. With the progress of the climate change, the number of natural disasters will increase and the food supplies, water and citizen´s health will be affected.
Which is the main form of income of the country?
The main form of income of the country is the agriculture. The 75% of the surface of the country is cultivated and the country is third rice producer of the world. A problem with the agriculture in the country is the lack of investment in this field which doesn´t allow the protection of the crops.
Why is Bangladesh more exposed to climate change than other countries?
The effect of the climate change in a country depends on the demographic situation of it. For example, Bangladesh is situated in both sides of the Tropic of Cancer. This means that Bangladesh has a tropical climate that results in floods, monsoons and other natural disasters. Other countries with tropical climate are Ecuador, Sudan or Haiti.
